Integrations: MailChimp Part II: Exporting Segments
- This tutorial will cover how to export segments into MailChimp for use with that service.
- In order to export to MailChimp, you must first configure your system to integrate with MailChimp.

- To export a segment to MailChimp, start by running an advanced search for the contacts you wish to add to the segment.
- For more on running advanced searches please see the tutorial on Searching for Contacts.
- From the resulting contact list, from the Action drop-down, select “Export All Contacts(s) to MailChimp Segment”, and click Apply.
- In the resulting popup screen to create a new segment select Create New Segment from the Select Segment Drop down, and enter the name of the segment in the Name field.
- To append the contacts to an existing segment, select the existing segment that you created previously with the Select Segment drop-down.
- Once you click on the Continue button the export process for these contacts will begin and you will receive an email when the export process is complete.
- Once a segment has been exported to MailChimp you will be able act upon it and the contacts within to send newsletters and other communications.
- All communications sent from MailChimp to exported contacts will be recorded in the Communication History of the contact just as it would if the communication was sent from the system directly.
- This includes tracking the sent, received and view status of the emails sent to the exported contacts via MailChimp.
