Donor Search Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where does Donor Search get their donation information?
A: Donor Search pulls their information from 25 different sources, Form 990s (for organization type), HH income (census data), real estate tax records (for real estate holdings), SEC filings, etc. Donor Search also pulls information from “donor honor rolls” – lists of donors on organization websites, in annual reports, and in other published documents (both electronic and hard copy).
Q: Can we update the DonorSearch data in our database?
A: Not directly; we no longer offer a direct integration with DonorSearch. However, you can set up a custom data set inside NPE for wealth information (from any third party source, including DonorSearch), set up your own account with DonorSearch or other third-party wealth information site, run a search in their system, export the data, and then use Zapier to sync the data to your NPE custom data set. Contact NPE support for help and we can walk you through the process.
