Configure: Default Venues
- This tutorial will cover how to manage event venues.
- Venues are the physical locations at which events occur.
- You can configure the default list of venues from Main Menu: Events: Configurations: Venues; you can also configure venues "on the fly" while creating an event. Venues configured during event set up are also added to the default list of venues.
- To configure the default list of event venues, start by clicking on Events on the Main Menu to open the events sub-menu and select Venues under Configurations.
- This will bring you to your list of default venues in alphabetic order. You can search the list of existing venues by using the search box in the upper right.
- To edit an existing venue, click on the Edit button to the right of the appropriate entry and you will be directed to the venue configuration screen.
- To delete a venue, click on the drop to the right of the Edit button and click on Delete.
- Once you confirm the change, the venue will be permanently removed from the system if venue is not being used by any events. NOTE: You can only delete a venue that is not associated to any event. If they are, you need to remove them from the event before you delete it.
- To create a new default venue, click on the Add button in the lower right and the venue configuration screen will be displayed.
- Start by giving a descriptive title for the venue in the Title field, and if desired enter the venue address in the Address field.
- As you type into the address field, the system will begin suggesting address that matches what you are typing.
- When you see the address you desire, click on it, and the section will expand presenting all address fields.
- Further, a Google map will be presented for the address you have entered.
- This map will be available on the public site for the event you are creating.
- If the system cannot find the address you are trying to enter, click on “Can't find your location” (you may need to click the "reset location" option first and then click "Can't find your location" and a full set of address fields will become available.
- To leave manual address entry and go back to searching for the address, click Reset location.
- When you are finished configuring the venue click the Save button in the lower right.
