Events: Configure: Hosts
- This tutorial will cover how to configure and manage event hosts. This step is optional.
- Hosts are other organizations hosting an event that you wish to advertise on your event calendar/pages. This is a way of indicating who the lead host/organization is, when the event is not hosted by your organization. If your organization is hosting the event, you would leave the host field blank. This field is only for indicating when the event is not hosted by your organization.
- When creating an event, you can create an event host "on the fly" by clicking the + button. Adding a host from here will add the host to the list of hosts found on Main Menu: Configurations: Hosts. You can also manage the list of entities found on the Host list (edit and delete) from the Configurations screen.
- To manage the list of event hosts, start by clicking Events on the Main Menu to open the events sub-menu and then choose Hosts under Configurations.
- You can search the list using the search box in the upper right hand corner.
- You can Edit or Delete any of the Hosts by clicking the drop down to the right of the Host name. Please Note: You cannot Delete any hosts that are associated with an event. You would first need to remove the host from all events and then you can delete it.
- To create a host, click on the Add button in the lower right.
- Start by entering the name of the host in the Name field (individual or organization). Please Note: only the host's name will display on your public website. All of the remaining fields are for internal use only.
- Enter a link to the host’s website in the WebSite URL field if applicable (optional).
- If you desire to include a logo for the host, start by specifying a name for the logo in the Logo Name field, and then use the Browse button next to Logo to upload a copy of the logo from your computer.
- Next, you can specify a color for the host’s information using the Display Color selector (coming future enhancement that will allow users to color code host names on their website. For now, this information is for internal use only).
- You can provide details about the host, such as notes on parking, location, etc. in the Details field.
- When you have finished configuring the host’s information, click the Save button in the lower right.
