Mentoring Module: Ending Mentor-Mentee Matches/Relationships
- Once an approved mentoring relationship is over, you can indicate this by “closing” the relationship.
- Once a relationship is closed, the Mentor becomes an Ex-Mentor and the Mentee becomes an Ex-Mentee.
- Both can be reactivated to active status by matching them with an approved Mentor/Mentee (either the same Mentor/Mentee as before or a new one).
- To close a Mentor-Mentee relationship, edit the Mentor record and click the Mentor tab or edit the Mentee record and click the Mentee tab (steps are the same regardless of which record you go to).
- Click the drop down to the right of the mentee’s name and select Relationship Closure Reason.
- Enter the closure date (date the relationship completed), the reason for the closure, and any notes in the Relationship Closure pop up box.
- Closure reasons can be customized by going to Main Menu: Configurations: Mentor: Mentor Closure Reasons.
- When you have completed the Relationship Closure Reason pop up, click Save to save your changes and close the relationship.
- The Mentor’s Status is changed to Inactive and his/her contact type becomes Ex-Mentor, and the past Mentoring relationship shows at the bottom of the screen in the History
- The Mentee’s Status is changed to Ex-Mentee, and the past Mentoring relationship shows at the bottom of the screen in the History.
- The Mentee's Parent(s)/Guardian(s) contact type changes to Ex-Mentee Parent/Guardian.
- If you need to edit the closure status/history for any reason (change closure reason or date or add notes), click the Edit button to the right of the history/past mentor/mentee record.
