Direct Marketing: Creating Appeals Part II - Configure Packages And Output
- This tutorial will continue the process of creating a direct marketing appeal, by configuring packages and outputs for an appeal
- Once you have received notice that the selection process for an appeal is complete, return to the appeal history screen and edit the appeal you wish to continue working on.
- You will now find that a new Packages tab is available for selection.
- After selecting this tab, you will be presented with any packages already created for this appeal.
- Packages are a way to divide up an appeal into different physical batches that can span different segments.
- These packages allow you to create variation in letter types, paper quality and colour, as well as other options for how an appeal is created.
- To create a new package, specify a unique code and descriptive name in the Package Code and Package Name fields respectively.
- Next, specify the delivery date for this package, and click the + button to the right of the entry.
- Once you have created all your desired packages, you must specify the Output File Methodology and Trancode Methodology you wish to use for your packages to allow for unique identification.
- Next, at the top of each column for the packages, set the percentage of each appeal that should be distributed into each package.
- If you wish to manually adjust the number of contacts in each package, per segment, do so in the fields that correspond to each package and segment.
- When you have made sure that the total number of distributed contacts equals the total number of contacts, click on Save & Proceed.
- In the resulting screen you will configure the output files for each package and segment combination.
- In the left pane you will see all output batches that result from the package and segment combinations that you previously configured.
- To configure a batch, click on that batch in the left pane, and its current configuration will appear on the right.
- For each batch, assign a unique Output File Code and File Code in the respective fields, and then provide a human readable name for the output file in the File Name field.
- Next, specify which Ask Array and Output File template you wish to use for this batch in the Ask Array and Output File fields respectively.
- If you wish to set the culture this package is intended for, do so with the Culture drop-down.
- Lastly, if you have a seed group you wish to use for this batch, select the seed group with the Seed Group drop-down.
- When you have finished configuring a batch, click the Save button in the lower right.
- If you wish to make a mass change to multiple batches at once, click on the Batch Update button at the top of the left pane.
- Next, select the batches you wish to update, set the fields you wish to update on the right, and click Save.
- Once all batches have been configured, click on the QC button in the top right to begin creating the requisite output files for this appeal.
- When this process is completed, you will receive an email notifying you.
