Turn Off Content Blocking and Pop Up Blockers in Your Browser Settings
NPE utilized pop up dialog boxes throughout the system, including running reports, exporting reports/data to Excel, and exporting communications to Word or PDF; additionally, we use Intercom, a third-party in-app messaging system, to provide real-time, in-system notifications about updates to the system, important announcements, service outages, and more (these will pop up in the lower right corner of the screen and/or can be viewed by clicking on the dialog icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen).
To make sure you can get these important in-system notifications and pop up dialog boxes, please be sure to turn off content blocking in your web browser (google "disable content blocking" and your browser (safari, firefox, chrome, internet explorer or check this tutorial). Please Note: even with content blocking turned off, in-system notifications will not appear when you are using a private browsing window, so be sure to view the CRM in a non-private browsing window.

Customize the Layout of Your CRM Screens
Within our CRM, each user can configure the layout of various parts of the system (Basic Dashboard, color scheme, default landing page, main menu, and the layout of contact records) to their own needs. Before diving into using NPE, it is helpful to first customize its layout to your needs. Pop over to our Getting Started Part II: Customizing NPE Layout short video tutorial to see how to customize NPE's layout for your specific needs.
Then, check out the QuickStart Video to Customizing Contact Record Layout to finish customizing NPE to your needs (this is the same tutorial mentioned at the end of the Getting Started Part II video tutorial). -
Become Familiar With the Support Library
Our support library contains written tutorials, video tutorials, and recordings of our webinars. From inside the CRM, you can access the support library by clicking on the "?" icon in the upper right (to search the support library) or by clicking "support library" from the "support/account" drop down (drop down next to your user name in the upper right hand corner of your CRM screen).
Please Note: your CRM screen may look different than those in our tutorials for a couple of reasons:
- Your system administrator may have turned off some modules in your organization's system - therefore all related functionality will be hidden from your screen (including Main Menu),
- Your system administrator may not have given you permission to view certain modules/functions within the system - therefore all related functionality will either be hidden from your screen (including being hidden on the Main Menu) or you will receive a "You Are Not Authorized" message when you attempt to access that functionality
- Your organization may not have purchased some of the additional/paid add-on modules (such as Chapters, Meals, Direct Marketing, etc.) - therefore those items will not appear on your Main Menu
- You have configured the layout of your Basic Dashboard, View Individual Contact, View Organizational Contact, and View Household screens using the "Configure Layout" option - therefore those screens may have information/widgets in a different order than in our screen shots
- You may have minimized/collapsed the Main Menu - our screen shots show the Main Menu open/expanded
