Modularization (Turning Off Unwanted Modules)
- The CRM provides clients/organizations the ability to turn off modules (membership, fundraising, and events) they are not using.
- Please note: this feature allows a system admin to turn off one or more modules for their entire organization/for all users within their organization. To deny rights/permissions to modules PER USER, see this tutorial on setting user permissions.
- Once a module is turned off ALL related functions will be hidden from the user interface (financials, widgets on View Contact, default and custom reports, main menu, communication templates, communication history, etc.). THIS MEANS YOU WILL LOSE ACCESS TO YOUR HISTORIC DATA related to that module (if any). The data WILL be saved/still be in your system, but you will have no way to access/view it. Therefore, if you previously used a module but don't plan on using it anymore, DO NOT TURN OFF THE MODULE unless you have no need of accessing historic data related to this module.

- Turning off the Events module will hide:
- The first time someone logs into your system, a pop up message will appear indicating the current status of the various modules within your system and giving you the ability to change these settings (activate/inactivate any modules). Please Note: this pop up appears once and only once - the first time someone/anyone logs into your system. Once dismissed, this pop up will not appear again (to any other users at any other point in time).
- Additionally, any of your system administrators can access the module settings by clicking on the Support/Account menu in the upper right-hand corner of your CRM window (drop down next to your user name), selecting My Account from the menu.
- Next, click on the Account tab on the left hand side.
- From here, scroll down to see the list of modules and their current status, listed in the Core section.
- Any modules that show a RED button with the word Deactivate is ACTIVE. Any modules that show a GREEN button with the word Activate are INACTIVE.
- To inactivate a module, click the red Deactivate button to the right of the module.
- A pop up window will appear, asking you to confirm deactivation.
- Click OK to confirm.
- To (re)activate a module, click the green Activate button to the right of the module.
- A screen will open up displaying the cost and asking if you wish to pay monthly or annually for the module. PLEASE NOTE: there is no cost for any of the core modules EXCEPT Membership if you are on the Easy Launch plan. However, this screen will still display because it is a standard screen used for activating paid add-ons as well. Also please note: if you have a balance on your account, it will be carried forward into this screen and shown in the upper right hand corner. However, that is your account balance and NOT the charge for the module you are activating.
- Click the blue Purchase button to the right of the frequency (monthly or annually) option that you prefer; as the modules are free/not cost, it makes no difference which you pick. As long as the price on the left shows as $0.00, you will not be charged anything for the modules. If you have a balance on your account, the system will attempt to charge the card on file to clear the balance so be sure you are able to pay for the balance at the time you activate any modules to avoid overdraft charges.
- A screen will pop up with the amount that will be charge to your card on file and asking you to confirm.
- Click OK to confirm.
- There will be a momentary lag as the system processes the request. This can take a minute or so, so please be patient.
- A screen will pop up confirming your "purchase."
- Click the blue "Go to My Account" button to exit out of this screen. When you return to the My Account screen, you will see that the button next to the module is now red and reads "deactivate," indicating that the module is now active. You will also see a green validation message briefly in the lower right corner of your screen.
