Changes to Pages
Users still have (mostly) the same "Look & Feel" configurations/settings as before - the ability to set the background image, hide/show your organization's logo, set the two contrasting colors, and configure the menu bar (including adding static text pages). We've updated our Pages tutorials to reflect these changes and provide up-to-date instructions on configuring pages.
When the shopping cart is turned OFF, users will only have the option to "check out". When the cart is turned ON, users will have the option to "Add to Cart & Continue Shopping" or to "Checkout." (we have also changed the wording on the Add to Cart buttons to say "Add to Cart and Continue Shopping" as clients had reported confusion among their users as to what "Add to Cart" did. We have made this same change to the button wording in our WordPress Plug-Ins as well). WITH CART ON
When public profiles are turned ON, the checkout flow will be such that when the user clicks "Checkout", a pop up window will prompt the user to log-in, sign up, or guest checkout. Payment information is then collected on a subsequent pop up window (When profiles are turned off, payment information is collected in a side panel rather than through pop up windows). If the user is purchasing an item that is available ONLY to members (such as member only event tickets), then the "Guest Checkout" option will not be available and the user will be forced to log in or select a different item.
In either flow (profiles on or off), the system will be able to identify who is member and who is not in order to provide appropriate access to member-only items. By default, both the shopping cart and public profiles will be ON when you are migrated to the new Pages template on the 16th. You can turn either or both off. Keep in mind that the layout and checkout flow of online Pages will vary greatly depending on the combination of settings between Shopping Cart on/off and Public Profiles on/off. We recommend you play with the settings and go through a few transactions on your site to get a feel for the differences. We'll be updating/adding tutorials that document the online checkout flow for Pages for donations, pledges, e-Store, event registration, membership purchase, and membership renewal in the near future. If you have any questions about the pros/cons or ramifications of changing any of your settings, please don't hesitate to come to one of our daily drop in help sessions or email us at support@fundly.com. One additional change that we've made in Pages is that when the shopping cart is turned ON, if there is a donation in the shopping cart, the user will NOT be asked to make an optional donation on checkout, even if you have this setting turned on (and even if this donation is combined with other types of transactions such as an event registration or membership). Many clients reported finding it uncomfortable that people making a donation were being asked for another donation of top of that, so we have made this change. |

New e-Store Module
We've added a new e-Store module to our CRM. With this new module, clients can configure products to be sold (including setting a member discount/member pricing), sell merchandise online, record offline merchandise sales, and manage pending orders. You can even integrate with TaxJar to automatically compile sales tax data for state revenue department reporting. e-Store merchandise can even be pulled into Events and sold in conjunction with event registrations. You can still configure Event Other Items as well, giving you the option to just use event other items, use just e-store products, or use a combination of both for each event. On the Pending orders screen (which acts similar to the Donation Premium and Membership Benefit fulfillment screens), you can manage order statuses, record payment for unpaid orders, and/or cancel orders.
We have a full set of tutorials on configuring and using the e-Store module in our support library and we'll be providing a training webinar on the e-Store module next week. Register for that webinar at fundlyevent.com. While the e-Store module is a premium add-on feature, we are providing it free to clients through the end of this year. So go ahead and give it a whirl. If you wish to sell your e-Store merchandise online, you can do so via Pages or WordPress Plug-In. For Pages, simple go to Main Menu: Website Integrations: Pages, click the button in the upper corner of the e-Store option to turn e-Store on and then add a link to the e-Store in the Pages menu and/or on your website. For WordPress Plug-In, you will need to contact us at support@fundly.com and ask for the e-Store plug-in. Cost for the plug-in is $500. If you have public profiles turned on, online users can request to cancel their order by logging into their public profile and navigating to their Transactions and clicking on the Orders tab. Your staff will receive an email notifying them that the purchaser has requested to cancel the order. Online e-Store purchases will show in the online activity log and WILL trigger the "On Cart Checkout" notification if you have that notification turned on. The e-Store module will be replacing "Invoice Other Items" (custom data set type "Invoice Other Items") (this is NOT the same as Event Other Items. Event Other Items will remain untouched); as such, we have removed the ability to add new Invoice Other Items to your system. Your existing Invoice Other Items will remain for the time being. In a future release, we will be migrating existing Invoice Other Items to the e-Store module for clients and then removing the Invoice Other Items feature altogether. We do not have a target date yet for this change. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact us at support@fundly.com. |

Reactivation can be done by clicking the green check mark next to any inactive recurring donation on View Contact: Recurring Gifts widget or by going to the Inactive tab of the Recurring Gift Profiles screen and choosing "Activate" from the drop down to the right of the item.

Changes to Editing Communications Templates
In addition, you can hide/unhide the right hand panel by clicking the green gear icon on the right. The right hand panel area is now wider and taller as well. Groovy! |
