Email is an inexpensive and efficient way to reach out to donors, volunteers or any other group you need to reach quickly. Therefore, to ensure the success of any email campaign you send through Fundly CRM, there are a few important things to know.
TIP #1: Important Change
Recently there have been some broad changes in email delivery by many major email providers. These changes may impact how and if your bulk email messages reach the targeted contacts.
For more reliable delivery of email messages sent through Fundly CRM, you need to add the following Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record to the domain settings for your organization's domain name.
SPF Record:
v=spf1 include:iqrconsultingSPF.smtp.com ?all
It's often possible for your web host to do this. It can also be done through the control panel for your domain name service.
DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP! This is extremely important to ensure that your emails are not rejected as spam. Once you have added the SPF, please let us know by emailing us at support@fundly.com.
To test the SPF record of your domain, you may use the following site: http://mxtoolbox.com/spf.aspx
TIP #2: Pay Attention to Sender Email
Use an email address in the Sender Email field that is linked to a domain that you control. An example for us might be mary@fundly.com. Using an email address from providers such as Yahoo, Gmail or AOL will result in an increase of undelivered and rejected messages - especially to email addresses with the same domain as the send email (Yahoo, Gmail, AOL).
TIP #3: Subject Line Still Matters
You probably already know the value of a good subject line. Read this blog post for tips on how to maximize that small but important space. Pay particular attention to tip #9.
With just a few simple steps and best practices, you can make any email campaign more effective and compelling.
