Events: Creating Events Part III: Configuring Venue Information
- This tutorial will cover how to configure Venue and Partner information for events within Fundly CRM.
- Venues are locations at which events take place and can be either your organization’s main location, or a secondary offsite location.
- To record an events venue, edit the event and look to the Venue Details section.
- To create a new venue click on the venue drop down and click on Create New Venue, which will expand the section.
- Enter a title for the Venue that indicates the name or location for this venue.
- If left blank the title will default to the Street Address that you must next enter, along with all additional address information.
- If this event will be published to your public site, this address will be listed with the event.
- Further, when your event will be published to your website, you may wish to make use of the Google Map URL field, which allows you to display a Google map of the location with the event.
- It is important to remember when generating the map and URL on Google Maps that you use the Long URL, and not the short URL that they also make available.
- When you have finished configuring the Venue address click OK to save and proceed.
- Once you have configured a Venue the system will save this venue and allow you to use it with other events, saving you time and ensuring accuracy.
- To edit a Venue that you have selected, click on the Edit(pencil) button in the Venue Details section.
- After selecting a venue you can delete it from the system, and all events, by clicking on the Delete(X) button in the Venue Details section.
- In some cases you may be configuring an event that is being held in partnership with another organization, and organized by that partner.
- In these cases you will record this information much as you do with Venues in the Partner or Other Organization Event section.
- To add new partner click on the Partner organization drop down and select Create New Host which will expand the section.
- The only require information in this section is the Host Name field.
- The URL field allows you to put the link for the other organization in general, or a link to that organization event page.
- If you wish to specify the details of the partnership enter this into the Details text area.
- If available enter the Logo for the other organization to be displayed on your public site.
- When done click on the OK button and the entered information will be saved and the Partner set for this event.
- As with Venue, to edit the partner information click on Edit(Pencil) and click Delete(X) to remove the partner entry from the system.
- Once you have finished configuring Venue and Partner information, and assuming there are no further changes you wish to make to the event, click the Save button.
